New Year’s Eve Fireworks in Ko Olina are scheduled for midnight on December 31, 2017 from two lagoon sites in the Ko Olina Resort.
It has become an annual tradition for the Ko Olina Resort Operators Association to host the New Year’s Eve fireworks in Ko Olina and we expect that is likely to continue for many years to come.
Ring in the New Year with a BANG in the Ko Olina Resort in Kapolei on West Oahu!
We are at full occupancy for all of our Ko Olina vacation rentals throughout the Resort, just as Four Seasons, Disney Aulani and the Marriott Ko Olina Beach Club are also at very high occupancy. There is no doubt that the 2-3 weeks spanning Christmas and New Year’s are the peak of all peaks in terms of accommodations demand in the Ko Olina Resort.
Information provided by the Ko Olina Resort Operators Association states:
- Safety zones along the shoreline walkway between the Diamond Head end of Kohola Lagoon 1 to the Waianae end of Nai’a Lagoon 3 (adjacent to the restrooms) may close as early as 8pm on Sunday, December 31st to approximately 1am on Monday, January 1, 2018. Guests will be able to reach their destinations via Ali’inui Drive at all times.
- The Aloha Team will be monitoring vehicular traffic on Olani, Kamoana, Waiali’i and Mauloa streets. Once public parking lots are full, vehicular traffic on these roads will be limited to hotel guests, commercial deliveries and emergency vehicles only.
We prepared this annotated aerial map for convenience to understand the areas that may be closed off by 8pm Sunday, December 31, 2017:
An audio system will be setup at Lagoon 1 and Lagoon 3 to air the soundtrack for the synchronized fireworks display. Spectators can also download the Ko Olina mobile app (APPLE download / ANDROID download) on the New Year’s Eve event page to listen to the soundtrack on a mobile device.
Further instructions from the Ko Olina Resort include:
- To ensure everyone is able to enjoy the celebration safely, we appreciate your cooperation in heeding safety zone perimeters and directives from our Aloha Team members. As in year’s past, the best viewing areas are not just beachfront, but also from your homes! If viewing the show from our beaches, alcoholic beverages, glass containers, coolers, personal fireworks and open fires are prohibited.
We hope to see many people out in Ko Olina for the ringing in of the 2018 year!
Hau’oli Makahiki Hou! (Happy New Year!)
